Melissa Marsted, the founder of Lucky Penny Publications, LLC,has been named Children’s Book Author for Utah by the Utah Center for the Book. Additionally, her most recent book title, Ole’s Dark Sky Journey, has been chosen for inclusion in the “Great Reads from Great Places” list for the 2023 National Book Festival of the Library of Congress. Ole’s Dark Sky Journey is the tenth title in Lucky Penny Publications’ Wildlife Adventures for Young Readers. It tells the story of an endangered Mexican spotted owl who travels to many of Utah’s 24 dark sky parks in search of a mate. Utah has more International Dark Sky Parks than anywhere else in the world, and young readers get to learn about the features of many of them.
